Jammu, Jan 31 (KNS): Senior Hurriyat leader and National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan, who is on a visit to Jammu province these days, has urged to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood among the masses of the region.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Khan was addressing a joint meeting of pro-freedom activists in Jammu, today. He said some political forces, for their gains, are constantly trying to create uncertainty and instability among people of the region but we need to join hands to defeat these nefarious designs of the evil.
The present situation of the state demands immediate initiatives for a political solution of Kashmir. This dispute has become threat to the peace and tranquility of the entire south Asian region, as two nuclear armed nations are literally in a state war because of this long pending dispute.
The state of Jammu and Kashmir is having a threatening political uncertainty because of this lingering issue. People of the state irrespective of their religion, cast and creed are facing physiological, physical and economical burn due to the prevailing situation. Meeting was also addressed by Shahid Saleem, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Mohd Shafi, Sardar Gurdev Sing, Babu Sing and Ranjeet Sing. All the speakers too stressed upon the need for the final settlement of the Kashmir dispute for a lasting peace in the region. They said that people of Jammu are being misguided by some political forces.
They appealed people to promote mutual brotherhood and create a tranquil atmosphere in the region. We need to defeat the nefarious designs of the evil forces.
The speakers said that a strong awareness campaign needs to be started to educate them about the importance of the integration of the state. As a nation we need to safeguard our constitutional rights.
Protection of these rights is very important for every citizen of the state, irrespective of his or her religion, cast and creed is. The present regime is using administration to suppress the genuine voice of the people.
Those who challenge the nefarious designs of the evil political forces are being picked up and jailed under the draconian laws like PSA. This grave situation needs to be confronted with unity among the people. (KNS)
