Srinagar, 30 June:(KNS)  The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani on Wednesday led a party delegation to Hariparigam, Tral to condole with the bereaved family of slain SPO Fayaz Ahmed, who was killed along with his wife and daughter. He was accompanied by MP Hasnain Masoodi.

The visiting delegation met with the grief stricken family and expressed deepest condolences to them from the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president Mr. Omar Abdullah. Among others party’s District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Mir and scores of parent body and YNC functionaries also accompanied the provincial president to expresses solidarity with the bereaved family. The functionaries offered Fateh for the deceased, prayed for peace to the departed souls and forbearance to the bereaved. 

Later Party’s Member of Parliament Retd. Justice Hasnain Masoodi visited the Sub District Hospital Seer Hamadan. Masoodi, who has constantly been following up the availability of health professionals, vaccines, critical Covid care drugs, testing and tracking facilities, and accessibility of people to various life saving equipment in south Kashmir districts, today as a matter of routine visited Health Facility at Seer Hamdan to evaluate the pace of vaccination and quality of Covid care available to people at the facilities. During the visit, it was brought to his notice that the vaccines and RT-PCR and other testing kits are reasonably available at the health centers but due to the lack of awareness about vaccine among the people in rural areas, the process of vaccination has slowed thus affecting the inoculation drive considerably. During his hours long tour Masoodi interacted with the health workers and various civil society members and groups, who rued the deficiency of staff and health facilities across all the health facilities in south Kashmir.

Expressing satisfaction over the reasonable availability of vaccines and testing kits at the health facilities, Masoodi said it was the deficiency of man power that was a point of concern among the locals. He also stated that the poor awareness among the rural people about the vaccination is a grievous issue which if left unaddressed will severely affect the vaccination drive. He impressed upon the incumbent administration to take all possible steps to ensure awareness about the vaccination reaches digitally dark rural people, saying the lack of awareness and education about the vaccination in rural communities will increase the suffering and imperil more lives during the imminent third wave. Stressing on raising awareness through community leaders, ASHA workers, and sustained media campaign in the local vernacular press, he asked the administration to take appropriate steps in that direction to make universal inoculation certain in rural areas.

He also impressed upon the incumbent government to take immediate steps to make good the deficiency of staff in the health facilities across south Kashmir districts by engaging medical and Para medical graduates and post graduates to give flip to the battle. Later on party MP visited the Aishmuqam Market, where at least six shops besides a residential house were gutted in a massive fire incident which broke out in Ziyarat Chowk Aishmuqam in the south Kashmir district. The visiting MP expressed unison with the victims and impressed upon the administration to access the losses incurred by the victims so that an adequate compensation is worked out and distributed to the beneficiaries at an earliest. On the occasion, Masoodi also impressed upon the concerned authorities to undertake a safety audit of the revered shrine to ensure that all the loopholes in the safety and security of the shrine and adjoin areas are upgraded. He was accompanied by District president Anantnag Altaf Ahmed Wani, Chairman Municipal Committee Pahalgam, Muhammad Ashraf Khan, DDC Member Dachnipura Nisar Ahmed, Chairman Municipal Committee Aishmuqam Arafat Khan and scores of local party workers and councilors were also present on the occasion.
