Srinagar, Apr 6 (KNS): Residents of Narkara and adjacent areas in Budgam district have raised a strong protest over the supply of poor-quality drinking water for the last ten days, officials said on Sunday.
Locals alleged that the water being supplied through the public health network is visibly contaminated and unfit for human consumption, posing serious health risks, particularly to children and the elderly.
In a representation to the Deputy Commissioner of Budgam and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, the affected people have sought immediate intervention to ensure supply of clean and safe drinking water.
They have also appealed for urgent remedial action to avert any possible outbreak of waterborne diseases in the area. (KNS)
