Srinagar, March 12( KNS): Director SKICC Javid Bakshi today clarified that name of SKICC has not been changed yet.
When KNS contacted him for confirmation of the reports regarding decesion of govt to change name of SKICC, he said
" I have not received any communication from UT administration or Central government."
Recently local and national media had reported about the change of name of SKICC to KICC."
The media reports were followed by criticism form political parties particularly from National Conference who said "Present Government can erase the collective memory of our leader from History"
SKICC is located on the bank of the famous Dal Lake overlooking the Zabarwan mountain range in the backdrop and in the vicinity of Mughal Gardens.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Earlier, the UT administration has cancelled two public holidays on December 5 and July 13. December 5 is commemorated as the birth anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah while July 13 was observed as Martyrs’ Day in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
