Baramulla March 21 (KNS): Continuing its efforts to avert any kind of eventuality that may emerge due to novel COVID-19 outbreak, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo accompanied by ADC Sopore and CMO today inspects the Sub District Hospital Sopore to take the appraisal of various preventive measures made with regard to the prevention of its spread.
On the occasion, DC took a detailed review of various measures especially made to contain the spread of Coronavirus. He was briefed by the hospital authorities about various precautionary measures that has been taken to deal any kind of exigency.
Directing the concerned authorities to act in an efficient manner, DC stressed for remaining vigilant and said that any kind of laxity won’t be tolerated. He directed to put in place a viable mechanism so that any kind of emergency is tackled smoothly. He also informed that a quarantine centre shall be established in the hospital for the larger interest of general public health.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMoreover, DC said that separate OPDs have been established at every health institution adding that such a measure will help to segregate the virus suspected patients and other ones.
Meanwhile, DC said that all the shops and other business establishments shall remain closed from today for which necessary order has been issued. However, he said that the order shall not apply to the medical shops. Moreover, DC informed that adequate measures have been taken by the administration with regard to the prevention of COVID-19 spread which includes deployment of medical teams for thermal screening at various locations, imposition of section 144 Cr.P.C, constitution of surveillance teams at various levels, establishment of control rooms and round the clock helpline numbers, ban on public transport, among others. He appealed the people to avoid unnecessary travel and gatherings and stay home in the present circumstances.(KNS)
