Baramulla Mar 19 (KNS): As a precautionary measure to avert any kind of eventuality with regard to the novel COVID-19 outbreak, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting of various concerned officers at Govt Medical College Baramulla to discuss various measures with regard to the prevention of its spread.
SSP Baramulla Ab.Qayoom,CMO,Dr Deeba, Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Masood,BMO's and Medical officers were present in the meeting.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion on the subject was held wherein more emphasis was laid on adopting preventive measures besides synergizing efforts for identifying all such persons having travel history to the affected regions.
While highlighting the efforts of district administration, DC said that several initiatives have been taken which includes establishment of 40 bedded quarantine centre at District Hospital Baramulla, screening of all the visitors at railway stations and at other vital locations, constitution of surveillance teams at village, block and at district levels etc.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe also said that a viable mechanism have been put in place so that any eventuality is averted. Moreover, he informed that section 144 Cr.P.C has also been imposed across the district and appealed the people to follow all the relevant advisories in letter and spirit besides avoid any type of gathering.
Emphasizing upon the concerned officers to work with added zeal and dedication, DC directed to strengthen the mechanism in this regard. He directed to initiate necessary legal action against all such miscreants involved in rumor mongering adding that, so far no such case has been reported in district Baramulla.
Appealing the people to cooperate in ensuring sanitation in the surrounding, DC said that a massive cleanliness drive was launched during which several places of vital public importance shall be sanitized. The drive shall remain in force up to 31st of March during which all places in rural as well as in urban places shall be sanitized by Rural Development Department and Municipality respectively. (KNS)
