MVD apathy: Handwara residents being charged Rs 15 for 6 Km's and Rs 20 for 3.5 Km's

Handwara, Nov 17 (KNS): Can we call this mismanagement of traffic department or sheer injustice, passengers in north Kashmir's Handwara are being charged Rs 15 for 6 kilometers while Rs 20 for 3.5 Kilometers on same route.
According to Kashmir News Service, the passenger vehicle are charging Rs 15 from Hangah to Handwara while as Rs 20 from Hangha to Qalamabad.
The passengers have expressed shock over the exhorbitant fare by passenger vehicles and alleged despite of overcharging cabs are boarding 10 passengers.
They said that despite assurance from the higher officials nothing has been done to end this exorbitant fare by the department.
A local driver of sumo stand Qalamabad claimed the fare has been fixed by authorities which locals are contesting.
Meanwhile, locals reiterate its appeal to higher authorities, saying to look into the matter in order to put an end this loot. (KNS)
