Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNS): The mutton dealers and sellers are agitated with the government for not paying flood relief to them, even as other traders and victims are being paid.
General Secretary, All Wholesale Mutton Dealers Association, Mehraj-Ud-Din said that the flood in last year wrought a damage worth Rs 1500 crore as their livestock and other infrastructure was badly hit.
“We went to all the officials and the then ministers concerned about our grievance. All heard us but no relief was paid,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that the government has paid relief to traders and other flood victims but they were ignored.
“The livestock we own are insured. We owe money to banks as we took loans from banks after flood to resume our business. All the mutton dealers are in debt due to loans,” he said.
The mutton dealer appealed to the Governor and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to intervene into the matter and address their grievance. (KNS)
