Bandipora, June 4 (KNS) :Communal harmony example was today once again witnessed in Bandipora as local Muslims performed the last rites of a Kashmiri Pandit woman.

Rattan Raina wife of Late Kashi Nath Bhat died late last night at her home in Ajar locality of Bandipora.    

On Friday , the local Muslims took part in her funeral and helped in performing the last rites of the deceased, 

Her son Iqbal Bhat told KNS that he was moved by the heartwarming gesture by the locals. 

"Local Muslims performed last rites of Rattan Raina. They arranged everything. I am very thankful to them."

Local Muslims of the area said they have been living as one community for generations and no attempts to polarize the local population will succeed. (KNS)
