Muslim League Jammu Kashmir organized Jinaza in absentia for Yakub Memon in the valley despite its six office bearers were arrested by police and nocturnal raids were made to harass its members and their families, a spokesman of the party said in a statement.
He said Police arrested Abdul Rashid Dar, Tahir-ul-Islam, Mohammad Rafiq Rana, Bashir Budgami, Mohammad Farooq Gotapuri, Manzoor Lalehari and Mohammad Maqbool Kondu of Muslim League.
Strongly condemning the arrests of Muslim League office bearers, the spokesman said, “Sangh Parivar is doing everything to suppress the voice of Kashmiri Muslims.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPolice also raided the residence of Muslim League acting general secretary, Abdul Ahad Parra however he was not at his home.”
“Martial law is prevailing in Jammu Kashmir and the men in uniform have been given a free hand to curb the people’s sentiments,” he added.
Meanwhile, the spokesman paid rich and glowing tributes to Yakub Menon, who was executed yesterday.
The Muslim League, spokesman said that the party under its mass contact programme organized Jinaza in absentia for Yakub Menon at several places in the valley.
