Munawar Khawaja expresses concern over low prices of Kashmiri apple

 Langate November 04 (KNS) : Langate constituency Development Initiative chairman, Haji Mohammed Munawar Khawaja on Wednesday expressed his serious concern over the low prices of Kashmiri apple, causing huge losses to apple growers. 


According to a statement issued to here, Munawar Khawaja said that the fruit growers are in severe distress, low prices to the produces leads the fruit industry at the verge of collapse.

Growers don't even fetch the expenditure incurred on pesticides, fertilizer, packing material etc
Government shout have intervened, and introduced minimum market support, and banning of import of apple fruit from other countries. LG administration and MHA may take immediate steps for banning of import of fruits and also waive KCC loan and sanction special package, as demanded by the fruit growers. 

Haji Munawar Khawaja made these remarks during public outreach programme held during last three days at Magam, Neelipora, shelhal, Nutnusa, teres village. 

He also urged fruit growers to produce quality apples to sustain the position of quality production in both national and international market, he added. (KNS)
