Baramulla, Apr 25 (KNS): Continuing its efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Baramulla Police on Saturday carried out multi-level enforcement and awareness drives across the district, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) A joint team of the Drug Department and Police Post Wagoora conducted a checking drive at Wagoora, inspecting several drug chemists and medical establishments for compliance with prescribed norms, he said.
Three establishments were found violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and were temporarily shut down, police added.
In a separate action coordinated with the Executive Magistrate of Palhalan, a special drive was conducted against shopkeepers selling tobacco products near educational institutions.

Police also carried out a checking and awareness drive in Chandilora and Tangmarg market areas following concerns over students and youth loitering unnecessarily beyond school and tuition hours, causing public inconvenience.
The individuals concerned were sensitised on discipline and responsible behaviour and advised to return home on time, with strict instructions against any recurrence, police said.
Baramulla Police reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and public nuisance and urged citizens to cooperate and share information on drug-related activities, officials added. (KNS)
