Muharram-ul-Haraam: Stand united as solid rock, Shah appeals Muslims

‘Sunni Muslims must ensure Shias don’t face any kind of difficulty during these days’

Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS): In view of the Muharram-ul-Haraam, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday appealed the Muslims to stand united as solid rock to foil the nefarious designs of enemies.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) teaches us a lesson of sacrifice and to fight the evil within the ambit of Islam.
He said there is a Karbala-like situation prevailing in the State as innocents were killed on both occasions. He urged the people to exhibit steadfastness while hailing their pro-freedom spirit.
Shah appealed the Sunni Muslims to ensure Shia brethren don’t face any kind of difficulty during these days and organize camps at the places where mourners take out processions. “The people of Magam, Budgam Chowk, Khanqah Sokhta, Chattabal, and others areas must take a lead and set an example of Shia-Sunni unity,” he said.
The DFP chairman we have taken inspiration from Karbala while challenging the mighty power like India. “Our Valley has been turned into Karbala where even a 12-year-old Junaid wasn’t spared.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe pellet guns are ruling the roost here. Even after killing 94 people in three months, it seems the power-hungry people haven’t quenched their thirst for blood,” he said.
Shah hailed the resolve and steadfastness of the people during the prevailing hard times saying the oppression has to end one day and that the people of Jammu Kashmir will achieve their goal for which they have been fighting for the last 70 years.
Terming the restrictions on mourning processions as interference in religious affairs, Shabir Ahmad Shah said the Hurriyat leaders Agha Syed Hassan and Ghulam Ahmad Nagoo have been under police detention since three months and are not allowed to partake in Muharram processions.
“Agha Syed Hassan is a religious scholar and is on forefront of the freedom struggle. To impose undue restrictions on the Muharram processions, and carrying out arbitrary arrests only exposes the uncivilized behavior of the so-called authorities,” Shah said. (KNS)
