The flood victims have threatened valley wide agitation in case the relief promised by the incumbent Chief Minister recently was not released immediately. Mufti Sayed had promised Rs three lakh to each sufferer family during a function in the holy month of Ramadhan.
A delegation of the sufferers told KNS that the incumbent government had miserably failed to ensure their rehabilitation till date.
The delegation while hailing the previous government for the measures taken by it, said, “It released Rs 75000 to families whose houses were totally damaged, Rs 15000

The delegation claimed after Chief Minister’s promise as many as 225 cheques each worth Rs three lakhs were intended to be distributed before Eid but before the cheques could be signed by the concerned tehsildar, as he was transferred. His replacement is reluctant to sign the cheques, the delegation informed.
The delegation also reminded the Chief Minister of his pre-poll promises. According to them, Mufti had promised Rs 20 lakhs each to the suffer families. ‘The Chief Minister must fulfil the promise now,’ the delegation urged.
