Srinagar June 1 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of renowned Jammu based Islamic Scholar Mufti Faizul-ul-Waheed.

Mir also recalled the great contributions of Mufti Saheb to Islamic teachings.

In his condolence message, JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir termed the passing away of Mufti Faiz-ul-Waheed as an irreparable loss to the people of J&K.

I was deeply shocked to learn about the passing away of Mufti Faiz-ul-Waheed and have no words to express my grief, JKPCC President added and paid rich tributes to renowned Islamic Scholar.

Mufti was credited of first translating Holy Quran into the Gojri language, which was indeed a big contribution on the part of Mufti Saheb to the people of J&K, Mir said.

JKPCC President conveyed deepest condolences to family and followers of Mufti Saheb and prayed for his eternal peace. (KNS)
