Srinagar, June 5 (KNS): Youth President Mudasir Karim on Friday extended greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-e-Ghadeer and urged young people to draw inspiration from the teachings of Ahlulbayt while remaining committed to education, social responsibility and community service.
In a statement, Karim said Eid-e-Ghadeer commemorates the event of Ghadir Khumm, where Prophet Muhammad declared the leadership of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib. He said the occasion highlights the values of justice, loyalty, truth and service to humanity.
Karim also paid tributes to Imam Sayyid Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini on his death anniversary and said his message of dignity, resistance against oppression and faith continues to inspire people across the world.
He remembered those who had lost their lives in defence of their nation, faith and principles and said their sacrifices would continue to inspire future generations.
Referring to mourning ceremonies expected in the coming days, Karim appealed to the youth to observe the occasions in a peaceful and responsible manner while maintaining communal harmony and adhering to the law.

With Muharram-ul-Haram approaching, Karim said preparations had already begun across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir and welcomed the review meetings being conducted by the administration and different departments.
He said the focus should now be on timely implementation of arrangements, including road repairs, sanitation, electricity and water supply, healthcare facilities and traffic management.
Karim urged all government departments concerned to complete pending works on priority so that mourners can observe Muharram with adequate facilities and without inconvenience.
He also prayed for peace, stability and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and for the well-being of the Muslim community worldwide.(KNS).
