Srinagar, Dec 24 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MP Fayaz Ahmed Mir today called the halting of counting of Drugmulla polls as illogical and added that the candidate has all the relevant documents required to contest and election.
“The counting of the Drugmulla constituency was stopped on a complaint against the woman contestant from POK. I fail to understand why it was stopped when she has all relevant documents. She has PCR; she has travelled to Paksitan twice on a passport. She has voted in every election. Now they give excuse that she is from POK, but isn’t POK part of this country. A Sarpanch in Khumriyal is also from POK,” he told KNS.
He added that he raised this issue with State Election Commissioner and was assured early redressal of the issue.
Regarding the question that if Govt calls her votes null and allows counting of votes polled in favor of other candidates, “That would be injustice with her. Like POK residents of Jammu , she should also bre allowed all facilities. She has also come from same place. Why two yardsticks.(KNS)
