Monga slams Govt's "poor" response to rain-hit Ladakah

Srinagar, Oct 09 (KNS): Congress Vice President and MLC G. N. Monga moved a Calling Attention Motion in the Legislative Council and sought the response of Govt about the compensation to people of Leh and Kargil whose crops and orchards have been damaged due to heavy rains.
According to a statement issued to KNS, while speaking on the Motion, G. N. Monga asked the Govt to clear its position in this regards, as the people of Leh and Kargil have suffered much due to heavy rains and nothing seems to have been done by the Govt, so far.
Expressing serious concern over this issue, Monga urged the Govt to inform the house about the action taken, but he felt anguished and annoyed when no positive response was given by the Govt. He felt sorry over the attitude of Govt towards the people of Leh and Kargil.
Debating this issue in the House, he said it is very unfortunate that no assessment of damages has been done so far, when there was no assessment done, how can the affected people of Leh and Kargil are compensated.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe got exasperated to notice the poor response of the Govt towards the miseries of affected people.
He said Govt must come out with a special package for rain affected people of Leh and Kargil.
Apart from this Calling Attention Motion, G. N. Monga while speaking in the House urged that Secular Character of J&K State must be maintained and no one should be allowed to disturb the Secular Fabric of the State. J&K is a multi cultured State and people here in Jammu and Kashmir have always respected and maintained Secular Fabric of the State and that is the real identity of the J&K State, he said. (KNS)
