Srinagar, Apr 11 (KNS): Stating that the government has completely failed to even hold by-elections in Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and MLC G N Monga today demanded that Governor rule should be imposed in the state at the earliest.
“The way PDP-led government has failed to even hold by-polls in Kashmir, shows that this government has failed on all accounts. It is high time that Governor’s rule is imposed in the state and this government is dismissed,” Monga said in a statement to KNS.
He said that the government even misled the Election Commission over the prevalent security situation. “The way government misled the Election Commission over the security situation in the Valley is appalling. When the opposition parties were of the opinion that the situation wasn’t conducive for holding of elections, the government didn’t hear our pleas. Now when they saw that they are going to lose, they prevailed over the Election Commission to postpone the polls.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
“The credibility of an institution like Election Commission has been dented just because it favored ruling party to postpone the elections. This is a matter of grave concern for all the people in the country who believe in democracy,” Monga said.
The Congress leader said that ruling PDP was trying to hide behind the cover of Election Commission as it has realized that its deceit won’t work for longer time now. “This government has now moral authority to continue as it has failed on all accounts,” he said.
Monga also said that fascist forces have no place in Kashmir that has been abode of saints and sages for centuries. “We cannot allow communal forces to take centre-stage in a place known for its composite culture. The unholy alliance of PDP and BJP has brought only miseries and destruction for the people of the state,” he added. (KNS)
