Srinagar Aug 28 (KNS): Senior Congress Leader and Former Legislator Mohd Amin Bhat on Saturday sought exemption of toll tax for locals living adjacent to Banihal Qazigund Toll Plaza.

In a Statement Issued to Kashmir News Service, Mohd Amin Bhat has urged the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) of India to exempt the locals from toll Tax, who are residing adjacent to newly established Banihal Qazigund toll plaza, as that, they deserve the exemption on the basis of their proximity to Toll Plaza.

Bhat urged the Governor administration to intervene and take up the matter with the NHAI inorder to ensure that local were exempted from the Tax.

Senior Congress Leader also appealed the Union Ministry of Surface Transport to direct the NHAI to pass tax emption order to ensure respite to locals.

I would also emphasize the concerned Deputy Commissioner to have the matter resolved with NHAI, on priority basis, as the locals deserve this privileges, Bhat added.(KNS)
