Jammu, Mar 5 (KNS): Lalatendu Mohanti, today took over as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed, Jammu and Kashmir.
He succeeds S M Sahai, who has been transferred and posted as ADGP CID, Jammu and Kashmir.
Mohanti is a 1989 batch IPS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre. He also holds the additional charge of ADGP Home Guards, Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The officer has served the State in several important capacities that include IGP Home-guards, Civil Defence and Auxiliary police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Udhampur-Doda range, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, District SSP Poonch, Udhampur and Jammu, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) East Srinagar city and ASP DAR Anantnag-cum-SDPO Dooru.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
During Central deputations, he served as IGP Administration in Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) New Delhi, DIG Adm. and Provisioning in National Security Guard (NSG). During deputation to Intelligence Bureau from 1997 to 2005, he also headed SIB Agartala (Tripura).
He attended National Defense College in New Delhi and was awarded M. Phil in Defense and Strategic studies.
Before taking over as ADGP Armed, the officer was warmly welcomed to chair by the outgoing officer S M Sahai and other officers of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police including IsGP Deepak Kumar, Yoginder koul, Shafkat Ali Watali and SSP Javed Iqbal Mattoo. (KNS)
