Srinagar, 20 May (KNS): Former legislator and Peoples Conference senior leader Mohammad Khursheed Alam on Thursday while paying rich tributes to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Late Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq said Kashmir’s political landscape lost great and visionary leaders and that their absence is deeply missed even today.
In a statement issued here to Kashmir news service (KNS), the Alam said Late Abdul Gani Lone sahib was a great visionary who by virtue of his statesmanship took several remarkable and historic measures for Kashmir and laid the foundation of the result-oriented dialogue for Kashmir’s lasting peace.
He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir shall remain thankful to him for the revolutionary measures he took for them with utmost sincerity and assiduousness.
"Lone sahib will be remembered for his immense contribution to upholding the dignity and honour of the people of Kashmir."
Alam also paid homage to Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq on his 31st martyrdom anniversary, stating that both Mirwaiz and Late Khwaja Abdul Gani Lone were the veteran and pro-people politicians who sacrificed their lives for the betterment of their people and in an effort to get them out of the morass of uncertainty and chaos. “We pray and hope that this violence comes to an end”, he added.(KNS)
