Takes cognizance of the ongoing drainage work

Srinagar Oct 31 (KNA):  Apni Party Youth General Secretary, In-charge Eidgah Constituency and Corporator SMC Mohammad Ashraf Palpori on Monday visited Gulbahar Colony at Rathpora-Eidgah to take cognizance of the ongoing drainage work.


In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Palpori said that long pending demand of the local inhabitants of this area has been finnally met today and it will provide relief to them especially during inclement weather.

"The locals of Gulbahar Colony had been persistently demanding for requisite drainage work in absence of which they had to face huge difficulties wherein elderly and children had to undergo clossal inconvenience as the water pools would cover the links," he said.


Palpori said as the construction of this vital drainage will culminate within few more days, the people of this colony will move freely without any hindrances or fear of bad weather.

"Having access to better roads and drainage is among the basic rights of citizens and my efforts have always be directed to provide all ease to my people which they deserve but had been deprived of by the successive governments in the past," he said.

The locals on this occasion thanked Mohammad Ashraf Palpori for mitigating their sufferings and taking pains to resolve the matter at the earliest.

"What an MLA from last 2 decades couldn't have done, Ashraf Sahib has done in his tenure as simple Corporater. We have entrusted him with our support and we shall see that Eidgah Constituency will have Palpori sb as it's new MLA in the upcoming Assembly Elections," a local expressed his views.(KNS)
