Srinagar, Nov 13 (KNS): Former Minister and Apni Party Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir on Friday visited New Theed-Harwan along with DDC Chairman Srinagar Malik Aftab.

The visit was scheduled after a delegation from New Theed-Harwan had earlier called on Mohammad Ashraf Mir requesting his intervention with regards to a long pending demand for the construction of an apposite playground in the area.

During the visit, Mir interacted with the local residents who apprised him about numerous problems faced by them and also demanded its immediate redressal.

In a statement issued to KNS, Mir said the people in this area have been persistently demanding the construction of a playfield but to this day the administration has adopted an impervious attitude towards their pressing pleas.

“At this juncture when our youth are being consumed by the menace of drugs and other social evils, the administration should have encouraged the spirit of these enthusiastic youngsters who wish to get involved in sports activities. It is their right to demand for a playground and an obligation on the government to acquiesce their genuine request,” he said.

On this occasion, DDC Chairman Malik Aftab also assured the local residents, especially youth of every possible help and said that all the necessary measures will be taken with regards to the redressal of this prime grievance.   

Besides, Apni Party Youth District President Srinagar Mohsin Zaffar Shah was also present during the visit.

The inhabitants of the area lauded the efforts of Apni Party leadership and thanked them for visiting the area.

“This visit has really raised our hopes and we firmly believe that under the dynamic and sincere leadership of Apni Party our matter will be resolved in a stipulated time frame and the youth can positively engage in sports and recreational activities,” a local said. (KNS)
