Accusing central government for failing to control the deteriorating situation on borders, congress senior leader Ghulaam Nabi Azad Thursday said that government’s lack of policy towards Pakistan was the reason for border skirmishes.
He said that central government was also responsible for the new breed of youth joining militant ranks in J&K.
“There is increase in the militancy related incidents and youth taking up guns which is a matter of great concern for whole nation,” Azad said while talking to reporters here.
Azad also called for calm and tolerance in the state over the recent beef ban issue. “We need to use our heart and mind but not out emotions for the peace and progress. We should not let peace to vitiate with this sensitive issue,” he said.
Leader of the Opposition in Rajhya Sabha, while expressing his solidarity with the protesting NYC candidates stressed that Centre should continue the job schemes that the erstwhile UPA government had initiated in Jammu and Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that UPA government had initiated certain job related schemes in J&K to address the unemployment and for overall progress and development of Kashmir.
“All these youth who are on protest here must be adjusted by the present government to address their genuine demands,” he said.
Azad, assured protesting NYC candidates to take up their issue with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to get the issue resolved on priority.
Pertinently, more than 400 NYC who are on protest from last 16 days were engaged in 2010 along with other 5600 youths as contingent workers. (KNS)
