Terming the achievements of BJP government which PM Modi highlighted in his Independence Day speech, a failure, the CPM State Secretary M.Y Tarigami Saturday said that it is unfortunate that Prime Minster did not bother to say even a single word about Jammu and Kashmir.
“I fail to understand what according to PM the definition of achievement is. PM emphasized that communal riots are not acceptable but let me tell him to go through the records thoroughly and find that the number of communal clashes are on rise from last one year,” Tarigami told KNS over phone.
He said that PM has no courage to stop the members of Sangh Parivar. “As for as Sangh Parivar is concerned PM has no courage to stop them. They are making provocative noises day in and day out. But they are being supported instead of being snubbed,” he said.
He further said that it was unfortunate that PM did not bother to speak even a word about the Jammu and Kashmir in his independence speech. We were expecting that PM will tell us ‘you have been victims of devastating floods’ and would announce some package but leaving packages aside he did not speak even a word of sympathy for the people of the state, Tarigami said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Keeping political scenario of the state in mind PM should have spoke few words but he again ignored us. “As for as political issue of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned we were also expecting few words from PM. He should have tell us that ‘Look Kashmiris you are part of us and we want to talk to each of you even to those who do not believe on democratic process’ but he again ignored us,” Tarigami said.
While further criticizing PM’s achievement speech Trigram said: “A year ago PM while addressing the nation had promised that his government would concentrate on certain areas. He had also promised that his government would also initiate new schemes. But he needs to be reminded that these schemes were already introduced by the previous government,” Tarigami said and added that instead of strengthening these schemes they slashed down allocation of these schemes.KNS
