Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNS): The state is likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, but intermittent, in plains and snowfall in hilly areas for four days, from October 24 to 27, Met Director said Friday.
Sonam Lotus, Director Meteorological department, told KNS that western disturbance may influence the atmosphere over the state, which may cause intermittent moderate to heavy rains in plain areas of the Valley and fresh snowfall on hilly areas.
Lotus said that whole state of Jammu and Kashmir is likely to be affected by the disturbances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that from tomorrow (Saturday) intermittent rainfall may occur in the Valley till October 27 morning,” he said.
He said in Jammu region and at many places in Ladakh particularly Kargil district the same weather may prevail.
"This weather condition may trigger landslide and blockage of road in vulnerable areas of the state particularly along Srinagar-Jammu, Srinagar-Leh and Leh-Manali highways," he told KNS, adding, the weather system may also disrupt surface and air transport. (KNS)
