MMU Passes resolution condemning Waseem Rizvi's blasphemous Act, demands Mirwaiz’s  immediate release 

Srinagar, Mar 16 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), on Tuesday ,held an emergency meeting at the head office of Anjuman Shari-e-Shian at Shairait Abad, Budgam, in connection with the blasphemous act of UP Shia Waqf Board chief Waseem Rizvi who has filed a mischievous petition in the Supreme Court regarding abrogation of some verses of the holy Qur'an. 

A statement issued to KNS said , "As MMU chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq could not participate due to his continued house detention, the meeting was chaired by Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mosvi As-Safvi and participated by the heads and representatives of various religious organisations among whom include Mufti Azam Nasir Ul Islam, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari, Agha Syed Muhammad Hadi, Mufti Muhammad Ishaq Nazki, Moulvi Muhammad Ashraf Inayati, Maulana Khursheed Ahmad Qanungo, Maulana Lateef Ahmad Bukhari, Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Maulana Fareed-ur-Rehman Bukhari, Maulana Ghulam Rasool Noori, Moulvi Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Moulvi Mudasir Ahmad, Moulvi Ghulam Hussain Mattoo, MMU Secretary Maulana M S Rehman Shams and dozens of other ulema and mashaaikh."

The meeting said this sacrilegious act by Waseem Rizvi has deeply hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims across the world and looked as part of a deep-rooted conspiracy aimed at stoking sectarian tension among Muslims, it added.

On the occasion, an emergency press conference was also held during which a unanimous resolution was passed that strongly condemned the blasphemous act by this man, it said.

"On the occasion, the religious leaders asked the Government of India (GoI) to  immediately arrest Waseem Rizvi for resorting to blasphemy and attempting to create sectarian rift among Muslims. They also demanded stern punishment to him," it said.

The resolution also maintained that as per the international laws, no petition against any religion or holy book, can be entertained in any court of law. It said the petition in the Supreme Court of India was a serious issue for the Muslims so it must be dismissed forthwith, statement reads.

The resolution stressed communal zealots like Waseem Rizvi must not be linked with any religion or sect. 

The resolution demanded immediate release of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir who has been under house arrest since August 5, 2019, so that he leads people during such sensitive matters and fulfills  his responsibilities. It demanded release of all the political prisoners and youth who are languishing in jails since long, statement issued to KNS said.(KNS)
