Srinagar, Jun 12 (KNS): MLA Karnah Javed Ahmad Mirchal and Managing Director of the Power Development Department (PDD) Peerzada Mahmood Ahmad Shah on Friday visited the border area of Budhnambal in Kupwara district to assess public grievances and review electricity infrastructure in the region.
Senior PDD officials, including Chief Engineer Projects Mohammad Hussain Shah, Chief Engineer of Kashmir Power Development Corporation Nisar Ahmad Lone, Executive Engineer Kupwara Mohammad Shafi Wani and Assistant Executive Engineer Abdul Hamid, accompanied the team during the visit.
The officials inspected the power transmission system in Wani Daji locality and interacted with residents regarding issues related to electricity supply and other civic amenities.

Mirchal also held a public interaction programme where residents raised concerns related to infrastructure and basic services. He directed the concerned officials to address public grievances and ensure timely delivery of essential services.
Speaking to reporters, the MLA said several development projects proposed for the constituency had been submitted for approval and that work on priority projects was expected to begin soon.
He said projects including the Shehlora Bridge, Shehlora–Panzgam Road and the Alosa–Pachkote Bridge were in the pipeline and would help improve connectivity and public infrastructure in the region.
Mirchal said work on several other projects in Karnah was either underway or had already been completed.
Residents thanked the MLA and senior PDD officials for visiting the remote border area and taking stock of local issues.(KNS)
