Budgam, Aug 13 (KNS):
MLA Budgam, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi reviewed the ongoing pipe-laying work under the Amrit 2.0 Water Supply Scheme and directed the Jal Shakti Department to expedite the project, ensuring that more than 15,000 people gain access to clean and safe drinking water by the end of this year.
It is pertinent to mention that, on the directions of Anjuman Sharie Shian, I have been following up on this project since before entering electoral politics.
For the past two decades, the people of Budgam have longed for safe and reliable drinking water, despite repeated assurances and demands.

To further address the growing water demand in Budgam, I have urged the Hon'ble Chief Minister to review the existing water-supply allocation under the Budgam–Srinagar Master Plan. The current 20:80 sharing ratio is unjust to Budgam and must be reconsidered in light of the area's population, requirements, and future water needs.
Budgam deserves a fair share of its water resources, and every effort must be made to ensure its people have access to reliable, adequate, and safe drinking water. (KNS)
