Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNS): Police on Friday claimed to have traced the student of university of Kashmir who was reportedly missing from past couple of days.
The officials said that the student was handed over to the university authorities today.
Pertinently, the varsity students had staged protest against the missing of the student and had appealed the administration to trace him as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, according to the statement issued to KNS, the police officials said that as was reported earlier that on 22-02-2017 Chief Procter university of Kashmir reported in police station Nigeen to the effect that a student namely Aqib Mushtaq Malik son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a student of LLB 3rd Semester resident of Pinjoora, Shopian was missing since 21th of February afternoon.

“Subsequently a special investigation team headed by SDPO Hazratbal was constituted to trace out the missing student,” the officials said.
The investigation team succeeded in tracing the missing student from the house of Mohammad Rafiq Bhat son of Abdul Rehman resident of Habak, Nigeen where he was staying as a tenant.
The statement recorded from the said student reveals that he was under stress for unknown reasons.
He further stated that he had spent 1st night at SKIMS Soura, 2nd at SMHS and thereafter during day hours visited a friend’s house at Baramulla and spent the 3rd night again at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar.
The officials said that after proper counseling the student was handed over to Chief Proctor University of Kashmir in presence of his relatives and friends. (KNS)
