Authorities on late Thursday placed Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest, Hurriyat (M) spokesperson Shahid-Ul-Islam told KNS over phone.
“Mirwaiz was put under house arrest around 8 pm. large number of police personnel was deployed outside the Nigeen house of Mirwaiz, who informed that he cannot leave till further orders,” Shahid-ul-Islam told KNS.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was scheduled to offer Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar tomorrow. “It is state-sponsored terrorism and an example of aggressive politics, spokesman said.
It is to mention here that the Hurriyat leader have appealed the people of Jammu Kashmir to observe August 15 as black day.KNS
