Srinagar July 13 (KNS): Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq paid rich tributes to the valiant martyrs of July 13, 1931, on their 94th martyrdom anniversary, recalling their unwavering commitment to justice and the collective rights of the people of Kashmir.
Mirwaiz said:“Don’t call them dead, they are alive, but you do not perceive it.” (Qur’an 2:154)
According to a statement issued to KNS reads that he said Kashmir bears witness to the painful saga of sacrifices made by its sons and daughters against oppression — in pursuit of justice, dignity, and their rightful aspirations for their homeland. The martyrs of July 13, 1931, led this noble quest by standing up to the tyranny of the rulers of the time, laying down their lives in defence of the truth.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Mirwaiz said that while the people of Kashmir may be imprisoned, placed under house arrest, or threatened with harsh consequences, and while access to martyrs’ graveyards may be sealed or blocked, these sacrifices can never be erased from the memory of the nation.
“These martyrs live on in our hearts, in our history, and in our continued struggle. Generation after generation will remember and honour them,” Mirwaiz said, reaffirming that the legacy of the martyrs is immortal.
He added that the denial of the right to peacefully commemorate these martyrs is extremely painful and unacceptable in any democratic society.(KNS)
