Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday flayed the state authorities over imposing ban on state government employees over the use of social media, terming such order ‘dictatorial’ and ‘bizarre’.
According to the KNS correspondent, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while delivering the Friday sermon at Kashmir’s historic grand mosque ahead of the congregational prayers castigated the government over its recent order against the state government employees.
Mirwaiz said such an order is aimed to choke the dissent and crush peoples’ voice through ‘autocratic’ policies.
He said such an action by the state government is condemnable and reveals the intention of the state authorities in crushing peoples’ right to express views.
Mirwaiz further slammed the government over the denial of the basic facilities like water and electricity to the people of Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He added that the government has devised new policies to harass and intimidate the common masses here with paucity of electricity amid the bone chilling winters making people suffer at large.
Mirwaiz added that the Valley has been made to reel under the darkness due to the vindictive mindset of the state authorities against the people of Kashmir who have been struggling for their birth right since 1947.
“More to this, the youth are being unnecessarily harassed and houses are being raided with impunity. The people are being arrested in droves without any charges and every attempt is being made by the state to tighten its grip over the region. This must be condemned at all levels,” Mirwaiz said. (KNS)
