Srinagar, Aug 14 (KNS): Hurriyat (M) Sunday said the infamous ruling regime once again for the second consecutive day sabotaged the Referendum March to Lal Chowk, a call given by the unified resistance leadership, by imposing severe curfew, restrictions barricades of concertina wires in and around Lal Chowk and its adjoining areas, sealing all roads leading to Lal Chowk and to the Nigeen residence of the Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. Once again Hurriyat (M) chairman was arrested as he broke out of his house arrest to lead a march to Lal Chowk, and was detained at Police Station Nigeen.
Talking to media persons outside his residence before his arrest Mirwaiz said that the aim of the Referendum March to Lal Chowk was to remind And refresh the memory of Indian leadership of the promise made by late Pandit Nehru the PM of India at the historic Lal Chowk that referendum will be held in Kashmir and people of the state will be given the right of self determination for deciding their future. Mirwaiz said a concerted and deliberate attempt since then was made to distort and change the discourse on Kashmir to such a degree where now people of India and the world community are made to believe that there is no Kashmir issue and it is India's integral part.
Felicitating the Pakistani nation and its people on their 69th Independence Day on behalf of people of Kashmir, the Mirwaiz prayed for peace and stability In Pakistan and wished happiness and prosperity to its people and said people of Kashmir want to see a stable and strong Pakistan where Jinnah Sahabs ideals for his nation are realized and it becomes a nation for others to emulate.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMirwaiz said that Pakistans Independence Day serves as an inspiration for the people of Kashmir who are greatly struggling and sacrificing for their own independence. He said since its inception Pakistan has unequivocally backed the people of Kashmir in their fight for their basic right, the right to self-determination and had supported them politically, morally and diplomatically at all times. Pakistan always highlighted the oppression and suppression and human rights violations carried out India in Kashmir and drew the world attention to it.
Mirwaiz reiterated that the struggle for freedom is not limited to Kashmir valley alone as India would like to propagate but the tremendous support of people in Doda , Bhaderwah and Kishtwar areas of Chenab Valley, Poonch and Rajouri areas of Pir Panjal region Drass and Kargil areas of Ladakh area by simultaneously staging protest demonstrations and marches in favour of freedom amply demonstrates that everyone in Jammu and Kashmir was united in the freedom struggle and that it is a pan J&K freedom struggle of the people , by the people and for the people of the state.
