Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who continues to be under house arrest paid glowing tributes to Basit Rasool Dar who was martyred by the government forces today at Bijbehara.
In a statement issued to KNS, while paying tributes Mirwaiz, said that martyr Basit a student of Islamic University of Science and Technology, who had a great career ahead of him, was like most conscientious and educated youth of Kashmir who have been pushed to the wall by Indian oppression are no longer ready to accept that oppression and subjugation and instead are ready to fight the yoke of subjugation in order to free their motherland. Mirwaiz has also paid tributes to Abu Bakar who was martyred at Sopore today.

On the directions of the APHC Chairman, a delegation of APHC led by senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited the Matarhama Sangam and participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinazah of the martyr Basit and conveyed the message of sympathy and solidarity of the Mirwaiz and the unified resistance leadership with the bereaved family praising the sacrifice of shaheed basit Speaking on the occasion, Waza said that our youth and children will continue to be wiped out and peace and stability in South Asia would continue to remain a distant dream until Kashmir dispute is resolved and urged the international community to save the future generation of Kashmir and play its role by facilitating the resolution of the issue while keeping the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir in mind.
