Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq, expressed grief and sorrow over the death young Saif Yousuf, the 21-year-old son of the editor of the Urdu daily, Srinagar Times Sofi Yousuf and nephew of prominent cartoonist, Bashir Ahmad Bashir and conveyed his sympathy with the Sofi family over phone as he continues to be under house arrest.
Meanwhile Hurriyat (M) spokesman expressed concern over escalation of tensions along the ceasefire line and India and Pakistan borders and said the damage to life and property of those living along the borders was a worrisome matter and appealed to New Delhi and Islamabad to take immediate measure to de-escalate tension.
Stressing that Kashmir dispute is the main cause of confrontation and tensions between the two countries, the spokesman said the two countries should create an environment which could pave way for the resolution of the dispute keeping the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir in mind and arrive at a solutions which would be acceptable to all.

He said while crushing the ongoing peoples uprising the ruling class had shown its political vendetta against the resistance leadership and freedom-loving people of Kashmir by unleashing police and military might on them and in every nook and corner of Kashmir, people were being subject to all kinds harassment and humiliation while being beaten up abused and arrested.
Condemning the arrest of half-a-dozen youth during nocturnal raids in Nawa Kadal area Shehar-e-Khas in Srinagar, continued house arrest of the Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and veteran resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani, arrests and house arrests of Hurriyat (M) leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and other resistance leaders and arbitrary arrests of thousands of youth, the spokesman said it was being done to break the will of the resistance leadership and freedom-loving people of Kashmir to force them into giving up on their right to self determination.
