Expressing serious concern over the increase in hostilities between India and Pakistan on the Line of Control (LOC), the Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed his grief and regret over killing and injuring of dozen people in Poonch and Balakote sectors during the recent firing and shelling incidents in LOC.
In a statement to KNS, appealing India and Pakistan to observe immediate ceasefire on LOC, Mirwaiz said it was imperative to stop killing of people living along the LOC. Asserting that Kashmir issue can’t be solved through military means, Mirwaiz stated Kashmir dispute can only be solved through meaningful dialogue and political resolve among all the stake holders for which Hurriyat is ready to play its role
Hurriyat (M) Chairman expressed hope that the proposed meeting between the National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan next week would make constructive progress on Kashmir dispute as well as other contentious issues.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe stated that Kashmir being the core issue should be solved through dialogue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris.
Mirwaiz also expressed his grief and sorrow over the demise of Hamid Gul. He stated that Gul was staunch supporter of the Kashmir cause and always advocated the solution of Kashmir dispute in accordance to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. Mirwaiz expressed his solidarity and sympathy with his family and prayed for the deceased soul.
Mirwaiz also strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Lahore which claimed many lives including that of the Punjab home minister Shuja Khanzada. Expressing his condolences with the families of the bereaved Mirwaiz Prayed for deceased souls.(KNS)
