Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was Saturday again placed under house arrest a day after his release when he was about to leave for Naqshband sahib shrine to deliver a sermon on the Urs of Khawaja Bahauddin Ahmad Naqshband(RA) besides offering the ‘Khawaja Digar’ (Asr prayers held at the shrine on 3rd Rabi-ul-Awal) as per the already announced programme.
Mirwaiz strongly condemned the brutal killing of Asadullah Kumar, a 39-year-old government employee, of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district by government forces and custodial killing of Sajad Ahmad Malik of Botagund, Veerinag.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mirwaiz said in absence of any accountability, the unbridled and trigger-happy government forces and police were working on a plan to carry out the genocide of Kashmiris by killing them under one pretext or the other, which was extremely unfortunate and a cause of serious concern.
Mirwaiz said the ‘Heart of Asia Conference’ scheduled to be held at Amritsar, Punjab provides another opportunity to the Indian and Pakistan leadership to restore confidence and reinitiate the process of dialogue and reconciliation and move ahead on the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
Urging Government of India to give up its obduracy and stubbornness and initiate meaningful and result-oriented steps for the resolution of all pending issues between the two countries including the all important Kashmir dispute,

Meanwhile, APHC spokesman while terming the house arrest of the Mirwaiz at his residence as frustration on part of the ruling class and their political defeat said the PDP-BJP coalition government does not have the courage to fight the resistance leadership politically and instead feels pride in adopting dictatorial and undemocratic tactics of keeping the resistance leadership away from the people.
