Pulwama, June 27 (KNS): Wife of slain cop, who was killed after militants attacked him at his residence in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on late Sunday night, succumbed to her injuries, taking toll number of deaths to two in the attack.

Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that militants attacked the cop at his home in Hariparigam village of Awantipora, injuring him critically, while his daughter and wife also received bullet injuries in the attack.

They said that the cop identified as Fayaz Ahmad succumbed to his injuries and later his wife also succumbed at the hospital.  

“Cop’s daughter, who was injured in the attack has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment,” they said.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police in a Tweet said that militants barged into the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmad of Hariparigam and fired indiscriminately. 

Police said that in this incident, Fayaz along with his wife and daughter recieved critical gunshot injuries. 

“Fayaz Ahmad succumbed to his injuries. The area has bene m cordoned off and search was going on,” police said. 

In another Tweet, police said that Fayaz’s wife also succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. (KNS)
