Say slain militants were responsible for civilian killings in South Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 20 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said that two militants killed in Awantipora encounter were part of the “Hit Squad” of Hizbul Mujahideen and were responsible for civilian killing in South Kashmir.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that one of killed militants has been identified as Musaib Mustaq of Khrew, while identity of another one was being ascertained. 

The official said that Musaib was involved in the killing o Javid Ahmad Malik of Lurgam area. 

Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone police on its official Twitter handle said that the two militants killed in the encounter were part of hit squad of HM.

“One of the killed terrorists identified as Musaib Mustaq of Khrew. He was involved in killing of Javid Ah Malik at Lurgam. This was a hit squad of HM responsible for civilian killings in South Kashmir. Identification of 2nd terrorist being ascertained,” police Tweeted. (KNS)
