Srinagar, Jan 02(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Monday said militants involved in Rajouri attack in which six civilians and several others suffered injuries will be neutralised soon.

After visiting the victims’ families in Rajouri, J&K police chief while speaking to media persons termed the attack as cowardly act and said the accused will be hunted down very soon.

"I condemn this cowardly act of militants in which innocent civilians have lost their lives and the accused will be tracked down very soon and security agencies and police are working on it," he said.

The DGP also visited the protest site and urged the protestors to cremate the bodies of those killed in the attack and also assured them all possible help.

He also appreciated the people of Rajouri for always standing by the security forces in the battle against militancy. "They have fought no less than a soldier," he said.

The DGP also said that security will be reviewed and necessary measures will be put in place for the safety of the people.

Four persons were killed and several others were injured on Sunday evening in a militant attack in Dangri village of Rajouri district, while two minor children died and several others were injured in an IED blast that took place near the site on Monday morning. (KNS)
