Srinagar, Nov 04 (KNS): Non local toy-seller was killed and 37 others injured when unknown militants hurled grenade at Amira Kadal on Monday afternoon. Police said militants tried to disrupt normal life in Srinagar district and resorted to dastardly. They added all injured had been shifted to SMHS and nearby hospitals for further treatment. Soon after the attack, police and other security agencies visited the spot and reviewed the ground situation after that the whole area was cordoned off to nab the assailants.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), one person, who has reportedly a toy-seller, was killed and 37 others got injured after unknown militants threw grenade at Amira Kadal here. Police sources said that on Monday afternoon, markets in commercial hub Amira Kadal were abuzz with customers. Amid the bustle in Amira Kadal and around, militants tried to create fear among people and hurled grenade which resulted the killing of a toy seller on spot and injured several others.

Police said, those injured in the attack were shifted to SMHS hospital where they are being treated.

Hospital sources said that 38 injured have been brought to SMHS hospital on Monday afternoon among one succumbed to his injured.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey added, among the referral, the condition of the two injured persons is critical.

Senior police official while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said, “From couple of weeks, markets tried to resume normal work and traffic was also plying on roads which however irked militant groups who one way or other tried to disrupt peace and create fear among common people”.

Meanwhile soon after the attack, officials of Police, CRPF and other security agencies while reviewing the situation, visited the spot.

Police and other security agencies cordoned off the area and start searches. Eye witnesses said that after the attack, police and CRPF personnel start frisking vehicles and commuters. However no arrest had been made reportedly.

It is pertinent to mention that on October 12, militants hurled grenade in Hari Singh High Street (HSHS) that injured 5 civilians. On October 28 militants also tossed grenade in North Kashmir’s Sopore area where 20 people received splinter injured among 6 of the injured were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. (KNS)
