Mian Altaf seek rollback of ban orders on extraction of minerals in Ganderbal

‘It will render hundreds of labourers workless’

Srinagar, Oct 04 (KNS): Senior National Conference leader and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf have sought immediate rollback the orders regarding the ban on the extraction of minerals from streams and nallah in Ganderbal district.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mian Altaf said that the administration intends to auction out the extraction of minerals to a contractor at several places, adding that it would render hundreds of the people associated with it workless.
He said that labourers from different areas of Kangan and Ganderbal are wholly dependent on the extraction of mineral from different places and if government didn’t revoke the order their families would face starvation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"The government should roll back orders regarding the auctioning as this would render hundreds of labourers jobless and will threaten their livelihood,” the statement added.
Mian Altaf said that the labourers are forced to take to streets to protest the ban orders and urged the administration to look into the issue and revoke the orders as soon as possible to prevent any law and order situation. (KNS)
