Mawer, Feb 19 (KNS): Labourers working under MGNREGA in Mawer area of Qalamabad in Kupwara district on Saturday urged the authorities to release their material payments, which are pending for the last four years.

Labourers, while talking to Kashmir News Services (KNS) said that their material payments for the year 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 have not been released by the authorities, thereby making them suffer a lot.

They said that they have borrowed loans to buy the material for these workers, however, despite passing of around four years, payments have not been released as yet.

The labourers said they have no source of income and their hard-earned money has been withheld by the RDD for reasons best known to them.

They urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Director RDD Kashmir, and deputy commissioner Kupwara to intervene into the matter. (KNS)
