Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNS) : A top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander was killed in an overnight operation in the Yousmarg forests of central Kashmir's Budgam district, official sources said Wednesday. The slain twrrorist was identified as Asif Musa, also known as Asif Fauji or Moosa.
According to sources, Moosa had been active in Jammu and Kashmir for nearly three years after infiltrating into Indian territory in September 2023. Over the past two years, he established bases and operated extensively across both sides of the Pir Panjal range, moving through the dense forests of Poonch district before shifting his focus to the central Kashmir sectors of Budgam and Yusmarg.
Sources said a massive hunt had been launched against him as he was involved in several attacks on security forces.

In a post on X, the Army's Chinar Corps said, "Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Search Operation was launched by Indian Army, @JmuKmrPolice and @crpf_srinagar in general area Korag, Yousmarg.
Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which one terrorist was neutralised. Operation is in progress." (KNS)
