Memon’s hanging contrary to human values says Mirwaiz’s Hurriyat

Reacting to the hanging of Yakub Memon in Nagpur jail, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman has termed it as against all humanitarian norms and principals of fair play of justice. Ignoring the real and actual facts about the case, a person about whom there reportedly was no strong and credible evidence of having direct involvement in the supposed case has been put to death.
In a statement to KNS, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman further said that earlier Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru and Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat too were hanged in Tihar jail while ignoring all the fundamental principles of Justice and fair play. The spokesman further said that the death sentence has still not been carried out in the case of assailants of the late prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi. After hanging Yakub Menon, it appears that the persons belonging to a particular community are being selectively chosen for carrying out the death sentence.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that how does it serve the purpose of justice to put to death a person for the only reason of his belonging to a particular community when as per the government of India Agencies had cooperated and helped in the investigation of Mumbai blasts case. He further said it is regrettable that in a country like India which boasts of the independence of judiciary and fairness of justice, the established norms of justice should be blatantly ignored and a person’s life snatched only for his being the member of a particular community and having no political patronage.
