Mehbooba slams Centre over silence on Khamenei’s death; protests in Valley

Srinagar, Mar 4 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday criticised the Centre for not condemning the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in recent US-Israeli strikes, as protests were reported from parts of the Valley.

Addressing a press conference here, Mufti questioned what she described as New Delhi’s “selective” response to international developments. She said that while attacks on Iran over the past few days had led to the death of its Supreme Leader, the Government of India had neither condemned the strikes nor expressed condolences.

“For the last five to six days, Israel and the US have been attacking Iran, in which the Supreme Leader was martyred.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPeople here expressed grief and anger, but thousands have been detained, including women,” she told reporters.
