Mehbooba reincarnating Jagmohan era in Kashmir: YNC
Khuram’s arrest forfeit the very ideas of democracy, says Salman
Srinagar, Sep 20 (KNS): The Youth National Conference (YNC) on Tuesday slammed the state government over the continuous detention of rights’ activist Khuram Parvez, saying actions only forfeit the very ideas of democracy and fair play.
In a statement issued to KNS, the YNC provincial president Salman Ali Sagar castigated the Mehbooba led government in Jammu and Kashmir over cracking whip on civil society groups for no reason. Salman said that such measures taken by the state dispensation vindicate how frustrated the helmsmen have becoming in bringing graveyard’s silence to Kashmir.
Salman added that after the tenure of the infamous governor Jagmohan, torture inflicted upon civil society and rights groups has happened for the first time. “Everyone knows the cordial relations between then governor Jagmohan and the present day PDP men. Mehbooba is now reincarnating the Jagmohan era in Kashmir for one more time.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelKillings, loot, plunder and tortures have become the trademark of Mehbooba’s party,” Salman said.
The YNC chief added that by detaining the rights’ activists, the government is only reincarnating the times of infamous dictators and autocrats. “Present time in Kashmir is such that it has no comparison in the recorded history. Never ever during the regimes of the turbulent rulers, Kashmir’s shrines and places of worship were locked down. But now we have witnessed those unfortunate scenes too,” Salman said.
Demanding Khuram’s immediate release, Salman while chairing a YNC meet with several YNC leaders including Imran Dar, Ahsan Pardesi, Jehangeer Wani, Sabiha Qadri and several others at the party headquarters here, said that the sane voices in the Indian union must understand that cracking whip against the just voices would prove catastrophic and fearsome for everyone.
