Srinagar, Sep 9(KNS): PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that under the government led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, South Kashmir witnessed major institutional developments, including the Islamic University of Science and Technology, a university campus, a medical college, and AIIMS, all within a short span of time.
She said that in contrast, despite being in power for decades, the National Conference (NC) could not establish a single comparable project in the region. Mehbooba added that NC’s criticism of AIIMS’s location reflects “indifference and apathy” toward South Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The PDP chief further alleged that while the NC often chose “flood-prone sites to benefit their own people,” her party selected locations “based on public interest and not political favoritism.”
Her response came a day after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the site for setting up the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Awantipora was selected on political considerations rather than on the basis of feasibility.(KNS).
